My jaw is still a little agape in wonder, respect and heart nearly in throat it's swollen up so much! Congratulations to all your family, Tanmeet. What an amazing memory you have altogether. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I’ve been in awe of the colors of spring this year. I don’t know if it’s because they’re more vibrant, or because I’ve been more intentional about looking, but it’s been fantastic.

I've been struggling quite a lot these past few days and the story you shared with us today touched me deeply.

I'm so in awe of your family, of Zubin, and what you and everyone who made this possible accomplished that day. Thank you for sharing and reminding us of what matters the most. And how being aware of it might bring us awe, even through the pain. 🤎

Sarah, I am sorry it's been a hard few days. I hope this moment of awe landing in your heart serves as a reminder of the ways our heart can expand, even in hard times. Sending love!

I am familiar with the feeling of awe and truly believe it can change our brains. However, I really struggle to feel it when I'm looking for it. Does that make sense?

Such a helpful and interesting question. One thought is if it you are feeling pressure or stress to feel it, your midbrain's threat centers may be overpowering the capacity to settle into it? And if you're not feeling stress or pressure when looking, maybe shift your attention to your vagal tone when you find it. Meaning, take some deep diaphragmatic breaths or whatever puts you into your most connected state of your vagus nerve and allows you to connect with it? Just some ideas without knowing too much. In the end, I also think that merely having compassion for yourself if you're unable to feel it when looking for it is a powerful tool. It may not be your gateway, there are so many others!

Thank you. When you say to tune into your vagal tone, is that sort of like a tingly feeling behind your eyes? Like the one you feel when you’re gazing into the eyes of someone you love ?

I love that description! It can be any sensation that puts you into your body in a safe and calm way, through gazing or maybe singing, breathing, dancing, etc.

I'm writing a post about building and creating my new garden from scratch. It gives me an immense sense of awe and joy! I'm saving up my before and after photos. And while I write this, my husband is putting the final post in place for the deer fence. I'm so excited to watch it all come together and see those little veggies sprout!
