Thank you for the replay, I can't wait to watch it! I didn't realize though that when we're participating live, we are actually on screen/heard like in a 'real' meeting... 🙈 I'm just anxious so this will be a challenge for me, but it can also be a good thing I guess, to try and overcome this shyness.
And I'm really excited that you are considering doing workshops a bit more often, that is so generous of you! 🙏 I think bi-monthly would be good indeed. Thanks again for the replay that I'll watch as soon as possible. Much love and gratitude to you!
Sarah there’s no pressure at all to participate or talk. You can be silent the entire time and just take it in. They wanted to talk and that’s also welcome. But you can definitely come and be silent with video on or off. All is welcome! Thanks for the vote on the amount! Let me know what you think after watching if you want!
Oh thank you for your reassurance about participating live!
Also, yes bi-monthly would be great, but this mostly has to work for you, as you are giving so much of yourself for us and it should absolutely not become "too much" with your schedule and everything (even though I'm sure you've thought about it before, but just so you know how much we value your time as well!)
Also sarah you will find if you’re anxious that these workshops and the community who come are so calming and welcoming. So you will be welcome no matter how you choose to participate. ❤️
Also, this is a bit off topic but there is this quote from the TV show E.R. (yes, I love watching old shows 😉) that I really wanted to share with you, because I find it beautiful and it made me think of you and what you are sharing about Joy...
So the quote is:
"You know what life is? Joy and grief, hand in hand. You can't know real happiness until you've had true sorrow to contrast it with."
It really resonated with me as soon as I heard it on the show a long time ago, and I wanted to share it with you.
Obviously here Joy and happiness are used as synonyms, but the writers of the show certainly didn't have all your knowledge and depth about these topics! 😉💖
I have just listened to your reply in the early morning hours. That is my best time to sit with JOY. You are changing the world Tanmeet for the positive. I really can't find the words. I am overwhelmed with the rightness of what you are teaching us and how you are holding your own pain and joy and being not only a teacher but a role model. Your authenticity gives me goose bumps and hope. I have studied positive psychology and so appreciation your distinction between happiness, positivity and joy. I am in full alignment with you and this community. Your offerings are a gift and as often as you are willing, I will be there. And, yes, I will follow my "why". Sending love and gratitude. Anne
I just listened to the recording. Thank you so much for posting it. Normally I would be available on a Saturday morning, but had a Vet appt this past Saturday. Bimonthly or even monthly would be great for these deeper dives! I plan to use a " deeper Why"" exercise this week. Thanks for sharing your message, Tanmeet!
Love that you caught the replay! Yes, definitely moving to bimonthly, quarterly doesn't seem like enough and if we need to move to monthly, I am open to that too! I hope the exercise is fruitful, let me know how it goes!
Firstly, Tanmeet, I want you to know that I'm thinking of you, and will be thinking of you and keeping you in my heart concerning your health. I am really touched that you shared this with us, accepting the feeling of vulnerability it might bring. You are being an exemple once again, and I hope you can feel our love, and the community supporting you during these difficult days. 🤎
Concerning the subjects and exercises you brought up during this first workshop, it really helped me understand some things better. For exemple, I didn't really understand the "deeper why" exercise while reading the book, and now it makes much more sense and I find it so meaningful. So thank you for explaining and sharing some of your "deeper why" moments, that really helped!
I also identified strongly when you talked about our brains tendency to try and "escape" constantly, instead of truly being present in the moment, and facing some of the difficult feelings that we might experience.
(Not sure if I expressed it clearly, sorry).
I'm really struggling with this, being affected by a dissociative disorder that makes me dissociate so often in my daily life when confronted by a something triggering. Sometimes that's even the feelings in my body that make me dissociate, if that makes sense... so it's really a challenge for me to be truly present, but something I'm definitely trying to work on.
Finally, I also wanted to thank the persons who shared during this live, some of your comments really resonated with me. Particularly, someone mentioned the difficulty of "letting go" of some things of the past, while still acknowledging our story, and what happened to us. (Again, sorry if I'm not expressing it really well).
It made so much sense to me, and I feel less alone facing the same "challenge" so thanks again so much for sharing.
All of this to say that it was a truly great first workshop, and I'm really grateful for the replay, and all of what you shared with us, Tanmeet!
Sarah I’m so glad so much resonated and you can see how much other members in the call can help us reflect our own processes. You really took so much in and I can’t wait for you to do the next one. With regards to being present when you’re dissociating, I would invite you to start being present with your dissociating. That might sound strange but honestly being present starts with just being present to what we are experiencing at any one moment. Let me know if you have more questions about that and I definitely understood what you conveyed e in this open hearted reflection. ❤️
Thank you for your thoughtful reply, as always. This is so appreciated!
Concerning the dissociation, it's complicated because sometimes I'm actually "loosing" chunks of time, not remembering what happened during these moments. It's not always the case, but it definitely affects my ability to be even slightly aware of what I'm actually experiencing.
But your advice is still very valuable, and I've indeed found that the more "in touch" I can be with what I'm going through, the more I can learn to listen to the different parts of me that need to be heard, if that makes sense.
I've also just started to keep a bullet journal, and that helps me take some time everyday (well, I try to do it everyday, but that's not totally achieved yet ;) ) to check in with what has been happening during the day, and how I've been feeling.
It's a very complicated journey to navigate, but I'm incredibly lucky to have some truly amazing therapists to help me along the way, and also to have been able to connect with you as well through your wonderful book!
I can't wait to participate to the next workshop either, and in the meantime I'm continuing to listen to your book (the audio version), which is so great for me.
You are on the right path Sarah. One foot in front of the other each day. Remember it is about staying on the path and knowing that it will lead you back to yourself. Can't wait to meet you in a workshop!

Love it!! Thank you for sharing! We used to watch this show in medical school when it first came out!!!
Aww really? That's so cool! 😄
This will always be one of my favorite shows.♡

Oh Anne, this just makes my heart sing. I am so glad it resonated. So grateful to have you in this community and looking forward to the next workshop!
