Thanks sweet friend.

These friends of yours are wonderful and I’m so glad they went the extra mile to include your family at this party! What a gift 🎁

My son has a developmental disorder that isn’t well known and difficult to explain. My own family doesn’t “get it” and I’ve never had anyone go to any amount of trouble to include us in a gathering beyond sending an invitation. So I really get how this was such a BIG deal.

Truly special ❤️

Jennifer, I'm so sorry your family doesn't understand your son's disorder and difficulties, thus making you feel even more isolated. It's not fair and I wish people would just... maybe simply ask questions if they don't "get it" in the first place ? So that they can better understand how you and your son feel, and his needs, and then maybe that would make them realize how privileged they are that they never even thought about inclusion in the first place!

I hope I'm not being too harsh, but I really wish you'd feel like you and your son belonged to your own family gatherings... 😟

Take good care of you 💖💖

Not being too harsh at all Sarah. It’s bizarre to me that people don’t do as you said and just ask questions… try to understand. That’s just not the world we live in.

But Thank You so much for caring ❤️

Take good care of yourself as well! 😊

Yes Jennifer thanks for sharing. I know what you mean. I don’t expect it to be anyone’s responsibility to reach out and go the extra mile but when it happens it’s such a gift!

And Tanmeet, I'm so happy that you and your son got to experience such a warm and thoughtful welcome from your friends, that's amazing and was truly heartwarming to read!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Zubin must have had such a great time playing video games with his new friends! 🤗💖

I wish it was like that more often, but the world in general is definitely not designed to make anyone with a disability (of any kind), feel welcomed and included most of the time, unfortunately. 🙁

Still a long way to go...

Anyway, thanks for sharing this beautiful story with us ! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
